So you have a dream or maybe even many dreams, perhaps you want to write a book, win a grammy, become an architect, a blogger, a real estate agent, a photographer, learn to play a song on the guitar, run a half or full marathon, or build your own business to name a few. Do you ever feel so baffled by the ambiguity of a dream you don’t know where to start? Dreams can sometimes seem ambiguous and lofty, but with the right plan they can also become a reality. For me, my dream for as long as I can remember was to be an artist: a full time singer songwriter and musician. I wanted it more than anything but kept getting stuck knowing exactly to start and what I needed to do. Then after completing my undergrad in Business Management, working coordinating large conferences, and tackling some other dreams I learned the secret to success. I learned to make my dreams manageable by breaking them down into steps through working backwards. I created the below Vlog and resources (PDF and Google Sheet) to help illustrate this process in hopes that it may help a few of you unpack your dreams too. If you find you’d like to go through the process with me let me know, I’m thinking about opening up some coaching sessions if anyone is interested!

Each year filming a Boots & Hearts Audition is one of my favourite experiences, as it not only gives me the opportunity to capture where I am, but, it also reminds me of how far I’ve come. Therefore, I am excited to present to you my 2019 Boots & Hearts Audition featuring Boot Stompin’, a song I wrote after my first Boots & Hearts experience. Boot Stompin’, came to me in pieces and was one of the first songs I wrote that I knew would need to be played with a full band. It started with me hearing the opening for about two years before the rest of the song finally fell into place. I hope the video and song gets you ready for a summer filled with Country Music, late nights and of course Boot Stompin’.

2018, what a year! I wanted to send out a BIG thank you to anyone who took the time to be a part of my journey this year. It means more than you know to be able to take part in this incredible world of music in some small way, and you all make it possible.
This September marked a year since I started doing showcases and each time I step up on that stage I learn something new. It’s been a year of learning how to find my own rhythm, refining my lower register and learning to be unapologetically myself, bringing my songs to new places with me as I did. I’ve had the great fortune of being able to be a part of showcases with so many incredible musicians this year, and even headline my own showcase, thank you RedPine! I’ve even started jumping in on some open mic nights in-between too, I guess I’ve got the bug now.
In any case, this year has been amazing and I couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you. Here’s hoping you and yours have a safe and happy Holiday season. Be on the lookout for upcoming shows and showcases in 2019. I’ve got a few things up my sleeve and am already stocking up the new songs.
Love & light,
